MAC Dash seeking volunteers for Sept. 11 event

The MAC Dash Committee is seeking volunteers to help with the third annual MAC Dash sprint triathlon Sept. 11, at the Madras Aquatic Center.

The event also features a Mini MAC Dash and a duathlon - all of which need volunteers.

Firewood for sale, proceeds go to Madras football

The Madras High School football program is selling firewood and orders are now being accepted on a limited basis.

MHS class of 1980 golf tournament slated Aug. 7

A four-person golf scramble will take place at Desert Peaks Golf Course Aug. 7 during the weekend of the Madras High School class of 1980 30-year reunion.

Entry fee is $20 per person and $20 for a power cart rental.

Culver wrestlers seeking work to raise funds

The Culver wrestling program will hire out wrestlers to help fund its program.

Wrestlers are for hire for various odds and ends jobs and are not licensed contractors.

Adult softball available this fall for area residents

Triple G Events is creating an adult slow-pitch softball league for ages 18- to 99-year-olds. Games will be played at Juniper Hills Park and men's and co-ed teams are forming now and must register by July 22.

Madras girls' soccer camp to be held July 29

The Jefferson County 4H and OSU Extension office have teamed with the Madras girls soccer program to offer youths aged seven and older a soccer camp July 29 at Friendship Park.

White Buff Open to benefit MHS football program

The second annual White Buffalo Open four-person golf tournament will take place Aug. 17 at Desert Peaks Golf Course.

Entry fee is $50 per player and includes golf cart, golf towel, barbecue lunch, gift bag and green fees. The tournament will feature Oregon Duck fans against Oregon State Beaver fans. In addition, golfers can take aim at a $10,000 hole-in-one and a $5,000 putting contest.

MAC Dash swim course training held this Saturday

The second week of an eight-week MAC Dash sprint triathlon training program will cover the swim course at the Madras Aquatic Center Saturday.

Bob Bruce will provide swim instruction from 8-9 a.m. Bruce is a swim coach at Juniper Swim and Fitness Center in Bend. He is a Level 5 coach (of five levels) certified by the American Swimming Coaches Association and has over 36 years of experience coaching novice, age-group, high school, college and master's swimmers.
