'Mink River' selected as Community Read book
"Mink River" is this year's Community Read book.
Jefferson County Community Read has selected "Mink River" by Oregon author Brian Doyle as this year's featured book.
The book will be introduced at a wine tasting from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 8, at Great Earth Natural Foods in Madras.
Copies of "Mink River" will be available at $14 per copy, as well as Doyle's other recent book "The Grail," about winemaking. Two free copies of "Mink River" will be given away at the event.
Community read events will be . held March 16 and 17, and books are being sold in advance, so people will have time to read them.
In March, Doyle will speak at the Warm Springs Library, Jefferson County Library, present a writer's workshop, speak to Madras High School students, and at Great Earth Natural Foods, there will be another opportunity for the public to socialize with him.
