Madras also earned three more state swims. Brady Tucker earned a state-qualifying time in the 800-meter and 1,500 freestyle swims and Aurora Gerhardt qualified for the state championships in the 200 backstroke.

"Brady had never qualified in those two events and he swam them and qualified for state," DeRoest said. "It was pretty impressive."

"Brandon loves to compete and loves to get off the blocks and see what he can do," DeRoest said. "I think he felt pretty good about how he did this past weekend."

Madras' Bryce Williams was first in the 13-14 400 individual medley (5:29.90) and first in the 200 freestyle (2:17.88).
