The Pioneer has served Jefferson County since 1904. It is a member publication of Eagle Newspapers Inc. and is published
weekly, distributed locally Wednesday mornings. The Pioneer, with a circulation of 4,250, also produces a monthly
full-color Total Market Coverage publication, Jefferson County Direct, which is direct-mailed to an additional 4,200
county residents. The Pioneer reaches homes every Wednesday and Jefferson County Direct every Thursday.
Along with publishing an award-winning newspaper, the Pioneer produces several special publications annually, including Sageland Magazine, the annual lifestyle magazine celebrating Jefferson County. It is published in April. The Pioneer also produces a very popular Madras-Area Phone Book in June, and provides a wide array of printing and composition services.
