Early morning fire destroys outbuilding on Crooked River Ranch

Firefighters contained the fire, preventing spread to other buildings or the wild land interface.

This rural area has no fire hydrants. Crews used water tenders to fight the fire.

Firefighters stayed on the scene until 3 a.m. to ensure the fire was extinguished.

No estimate yet on the dollar amount of the losses. Fire completely destroyed the building along with a tractor and a flatbed trailer. A nearby shed suffered some heat damage, but the home on the property escaped unscathed.

Five CCRF&R staff members and ten volunteers responded to the scene. Crews from Redmond Fire & Rescue and the Cloverdale Fire District aided in the incident. 

The Oregon State Fire Marshal will investigate the cause of the fire.
