An increase in water rates could be a budget shock for ratepayers on Crooked River Ranch. After eight years without asking for an increase, Crooked River Ranch Water Company is asking the Public Utilities Commission for a 36.5% rate increase totaling about $370,000 annually.

A residential customer with a 1-inch meter could see rates go from about $53 a month to approximately $94 a month. Monthly rates for a customer with a 2-inch meter could go from about $97 to $266. A commercial customer with a 2-inch meter could see its monthly bill go from $125 to $300.
