The Madras High School boys tennis doubles team of Juan Olivera and Matias Ruiz Jr. competed hard at the 4A/3A/2A/1A State Championships Friday but came up short in their two matches.

Madras and Crook County were the class of the Tri-Valley Conference Championships boys meet Saturday in Madras. Madras had six champions of 17 events to Crook County’s four, but the Cowboys had the depth to win the team title.

The Madras White Buffalos softball squad hosted the powerful The Dalles Riverhawks on May 3 and lost 16-0, dropping their conference record to 2-9.

The Madras boys won a three-way track and field meet over Molalla and The Dalles Wednesday in Madras, and the girls squad tied with The Dalles for the title with Molalla taking third.

The Culver Bulldogs traveled to play the Sherman Huskies in a non-conference game Thursday, April 27 and won in convincing fashion, 14-2.

Madras traveled to face No. 1-ranked and unbeaten Gladstone Thursday and come home with what is likely one of the biggest regular season wins in program history. a 10-7 extra-inning victory.
